Triple J Enterprises, the Red Lobster brand franchise operator on Guam, announced the permanent closure on Monday. The pandemic has posed unprecedented challenges for our group, most especially our restaurants that rely heavily on Guam s tourism and hospitality industry, Jeff Jones, president and chief operating officer of Triple J Enterprises Inc., said in a written statement. We have done our best to try and navigate through this uncharted territory but have exhausted all options and have made the incredibly difficult decision to close Red Lobster Guam permanently. Red Lobster Guam opened its doors in July 2019, bringing a casual dining experience focused on fresh seafood. ....
HAGÃ TÃA (The Guam Daily Post) â Guam moviegoers will again have options for where to watch movies on the big screen by the middle of May. Regal Theaters, on its corporate website, announced that the Regal Guam Megaplex, located at Guam Premier Outlets in Tamuning, will reopen May 14. GPO general manager Monte Mesa said Regal Guam Megaplex is planning to open on May 14 as planned on their corporate website, and is hoping that the Department of Public Health and Social Services approves the company s safety protocol plans with the adjustment to 75% seating capacity per theater room. When Regal Guam Megaplex reopens, it will be 14 months since it closed because of the first Covid-19 pandemic lockdown on Guam in March 2020. ....
Patrons slowly trickle back to Tango Theaters After almost a year of closure, Tango Theatres returned to business a few weeks ago. Although the staff has flung open theater doors, patrons proceed with caution. But even with capacity limits, more people than expected have walked into the auditoriums, according to theater staff. “We wanted to see what movies they were showing after it’s been closed for how long,” said Zac Naputi, a recent visitor to the Micronesia Mall theaters. With his young kids, Naputi wanted to know the protocols of the theaters, especially how they plan to sanitize the theater after each movie. ....
The 18 people are part of 11 different families, she said. The Joint Information Center on Monday announced the 18 cases were identified in quarantine after tests conducted from Jan. 29-31. Carrera on Tuesday originally said it was two large families but received clarification the 18 came from 11 families. The 18 people arrived on Guam between Jan. 19 through Jan. 26, Carrera said. One family arrived Jan. 19, another on Jan. 20, three on Jan. 22, two on Jan. 23, two on Jan. 25 and two on Jan. 26, according to Public Health documents. All 18 have since been moved to isolation. Carrera said the government s quarantine policy is working and the 18 people aren t out in the community where the virus could spread. ....
