Kargil,July 06 (Scoop News)- Officials of different departments today visited several flood-affected areas in Kargil and Zanskar to inspect the damage caused by floods.

Councilor Chuliskambo Aftab Hussain, BDC Chairperson Khatija Bano, Tehsildar Kargil (headquarter) Kacho Asgar Ali Khan visited Karkit village of Badgam which witnessed flash floods due cloudburst on Monday evening.

Due to the flood, the main irrigation canal at Budgam has been damaged at some places which needs to be restored immediately.

The officials of the Rural Development Department have reached the spot and are working to restore the irrigation canal on a priority basis and conduct a survey of the damage.

In addition to it, standing crops and trees at Budgam have also suffered damage. It was informed that mud has also entered some rooms of a government middle school.

In Zanskar, the officials of the Revenue Department today visited flood-hit areas at Ubrak and Ragzam ....
