Cop claims trial to bribery charge


A police lance corporal (in cap blue jacket) was charged at the MACC court for receiving bribes from a couple for adultery.
IPOH: A policeman has claimed trial to two counts of receiving RM250 in bribes from a man involved in a khalwat (close proximity) case.
Lans Koperal Abdul Hadi Bin Abu Bakar, 28, pleaded not guilty when the charge was read to him before Sessions Court Judge S. Indra Nehru here on Monday (July 26).
Abdul Hadi, represented by counsel Sheikh Mohd Nasir Sheikh Mohd Sharif, allegedly committed the offences on Dec 30, 2019 and Jan 5, 2020.
According to the charge sheet, Abdul Hadi, while on patrol at the parking lot of Taman D.R. Seenivasagam here at 2am on Dec 30, 2019, had come across a couple involved in khalwat, and allegedly received RM50 from one Muhammad Hafizuldin Hamzah, 25, as an inducement not to bring the man and his partner to the police station. ....

Policeman charged with receiving RM250 bribe

IPOH: A policeman was charged in the Sessions Court here today with two counts of soliciting bribes, amounting to RM250, from a man who was allegedly caught for “khalwat” (close proximity).
Abdul Hadi Abu Bakar, 28, however, pleaded not guilty to both the charges before S. Indra Nehru.
The policeman, with the rank of lance corporal and attached with the Ipoh district police headquarters , was alleged to have received RM50 from the man, aged 25, as an inducement that action would not be taken against him and his girlfriend for alleged “khalwat”.
The offence was allegedly committed at a car park at Taman D.R. Seenivasagam here at 2 am on Dec 30, 2019. ....
