(DES MOINES) – Rep. Dean Fisher (R-Montour) met with constituents from the South Tama Community School District today in the Iowa House of Representatives.  The group came to advocate on behalf of the I JAG program at South Tama CSD and to learn more about the legislature. Students .

1. The school board held a regularly scheduled meeting Monday, Feb. 15 virtually due to weather. The school board discussed the stop signs that were placed near 15th Street and 9th Street this year to help with students’ crossings at busy intersections. ....

Emily Carnahan made 52 blankets over the past year to donate to children at the Stead Family Children’s Hospital in Iowa City.

Giving back ’tis the reason for the season and Emily Carnahan is doing just that.
Carnahan set a goal for her 13th birthday, to make a fleece tie blanket a week with the intentions of donating the blankets to Stead Family Children’s Hospital in Iowa City.
It is now a year later, Carnahan just turned 14 on Dec. 3 and she has 52 blankets to donate.
The idea came to Carnahan while she was making a blanket for herself during her time spent at home due to COVID-19. ....
