For nearly a year, one of the most outspoken defenders of Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has maintained near-total radio silence.
On May 24, 2020, Jonatan Urich, a Likud spokesman, close adviser to the premier and chum of Netanyahu’s bluntly outspoken son Yair, fired off four tweets in support of the prime minister, who was making history that day as the first sitting head of the government in the country’s history to go on trial.

Gideon Sa'ar caught up in Lincoln Project scandal – The Forward


The campaign of Gideon Sa’ar, the conservative rival of Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, announced on Tuesday that it had suspended its cooperation with four American political strategists affiliated with the Lincoln Project less than a month after they were hired.
“Due to financial considerations, the contract with the consultants is under review, and in the coming days, we will examine the possibility of further cooperation,” a spokesperson for the New Hope party said in a statement.
The suspension comes amid revelations about a cover-up of sexual harassment allegations against one of the co-founders of the Lincoln Project, a super PAC launched by a group of “never Trump” Republicans in 2019. A Geneva court has found Israeli billionaire Beny Steinmetz guilty of corruption.
Steinmetz, who is reported to be a silent backer of New York real estate, was sentenced to five years in jail for paying bribes to a Guinean public official in order to secure rights to an iron-ore mine.
The official, Mamadie Toure, is the wife of Guinea’s late former president, Lansana Conté. Steinmetz’s lawyer denied the tycoon had been involved in any payment, according to Bloomberg News. ....
