Nigeria’s Chief of Army Staff, Lt. Gen. Ibrahim Attahiru died in an air crash in Kaduna on Friday.
Attahiru, a Hausa, was born on August 10, 1966. Intriguingly, he hailed from Doka in Kaduna, the State he passed away.
Attahiru was among the Service Chiefs appointed by President Muhammadu Buhari in January 2021.
The rest are General Leo Irabor – Chief of Defence Staff; Vice Admiral A. Z. Gambo – Chief of Naval Staff, and Air Marshal I. O. Amao – Chief of Air Staff.

There will be a lot of trouble for Nigeria and all other countries sharing borders with Chad if the security in the West African country escalates, Major General Bashir Magashi has said.
Magashi, who is the Minister of Defence, made the remark on Thursday at the continued special weekly ministerial briefing held at the Presidential Villa in Abuja, the nation’s capital.
He was reacting to the recent happenings in Chad following the death of President Idriss Deby who died of injuries he sustained while fighting rebels in the north of the Sahel country.
