New scratch kitchen, No. 6, opening this summer in South Bend Photo courtesy of No. 6 SOUTH BEND, Ind. A new scratch kitchen is planning to open this summer in a unique South Bend building. No. 6, named for its location inside of old Firehouse No. 6, is targeting a mid-June opening date, according to one of the restaurant’s principles and its head chef, Amanda Shutts. The scratch kitchen will be located at 701 Portage Avenue. The menu will feature locally-sourced, seasonal comfort food, with items changing weekly. Shutts says the menu will offer dishes like an Argentinian Filet Mignon, Pork Sugo, Taco Trio and Brisket Bites. ....

Which made 2020 almost unbearably difficult for so many in Maine and specifically the City of Portland. Prior to the pandemic, Portland was flush with a phenomenal group of live music venues. But as the weeks and then months wore on, it became clear that not every single one of those venues was going to see the other side. That included the Portland House of Music and Events, which was listed for sale by owner Ken Bell last July. The club didn t sell and after some fundraising, creative merchandising and Bell himself gutting out more than a year without shows, Portland House of Music will officially reopen this summer. ....

Emilitsa’s social media hasn’t been updated in months, and that same farewell phone message is all you’ll get if you call the restaurant. Well, I have mixed news for anxious Emilitsa fans.
