Adarsh Gourav is electrifying in the screen adaptation of Aravind Adiga s bestseller The White Tiger and he certainly suffered for his art. Gourav plays Balram, an underdog, born to serve India s idle rich, who clambers up a greasy, murderous pole. But when he went undercover in a village, to see what Balram s early years might have been like, he contracted food poisoning. Very different, he said, from his own upbringing with bankers for parents. As we chatted on Zoom Gourav from his apartment in Mumbai he still looked very thin. Together Again – Thespie | Review March 17, 2021 Briskly paced, Together Again manages to get through ten songs in fifty minutes, which is quite an achievement, given that there’s also introductions and conversations thrown in too. Sophie Isaacs, Jodie Steele and T’Shan Williams were in the same West End production of Heathers: The Musical, in the roles of Heather McNamara, Heather Chandler and Heather Duke respectively. Drawing from both musical theatre and chart music worlds, the trio present a concert with an impressive range of showtunes and melodies that, collectively, are as poignant as they are motivational. Never Give Up On A Dream – Thespie | Review January 1, 2021 Last updated: March 17, 2021 The Kimpton Fitzroy Hotel is a rather beautiful venue for this online concert, featuring members of the West End cast of Pretty Woman: The Musical. Bookended by supportive messages from Paula Wagner, the musical’s lead producer, and Jerry Mitchell, the show’s director and choreographer, it goes well with the other concerts available (at the time of writing) on the Thespie platform. Mixed in with a wide selection of tunes is some conversation, sometimes in the form of banter between the actors, sometimes in the form of personal anecdotes, and sometimes in the form of questions being thrown at the actors for them to consider. ....
