Deutsche Telekom, Cellnex ink Dutch tower tie-up - Mobile World Live 21 JAN 2021 Deutsche Telekom signed an agreement with Cellnex to merge their respective tower businesses in the Netherlands and establish a joint investment fund covering digital infrastructure across Europe. In a statement, Cellnex said Deutsche Telekom’s T-Mobile Netherlands business would integrate 3,150 towers into its Cellnex Netherlands subsidiary, which will operate a total 4,314 sites in the country. Cellnex and T-Mobile Netherlands plan to sign a 15-year provision agreement, which is automatically renewable for ten-year periods and includes a requirement to roll out 180 new sites over the next seven years. The new business will be 62 per cent owned by Cellnex, with Deutsche Telekom holding the remaining 38 per cent. ....
Deutsche Telekom & Cellnex To Create Tower Company In The Netherlands BONN (dpa-AFX) - Deutsche Telekom AG (DTEGY.PK) and Cellnex Telecom S.A. have agreed to merge their Dutch mobile communications infrastructure companies into Cellnex Netherlands BV. This combination of tower businesses of both companies will result in the largest independent cell mobile tower company in the Netherland. The companies will also become anchor investors in a newly created Digital Infrastructure Vehicle (DIV), an investment fund focused on European digital infrastructure. DIV will be open to institutional investors. Deutsche Telekom intends to hold a limited partner stake of around 25 percent in the fund after third-party investments. ....
Cellnex Telecom, the aggressively expansionist Spanish mobile tower company, is increasing its presence in the Netherlands through a new mobile tower venture with Deutsche Telekom (DT). The move, which follows the recent closure of Cellnex s acquisition of CK Hutchison s telecommunications tower assets in Austria, Denmark and Ireland, will create what the two partners describe as the leading independent telecommunications tower company in the Netherlands. Furthermore, Cellnex and DT are creating a new and independently managed fund called Digital Infrastructure Vehicle (DIV), which will be headed up by Vicente Vento, the co-founder of Deutsche Telekom Capital Partners (DTCP).
