The Republic of Azerbaijan and the Islamic Republic of Pakistan have comprehensive diplomatic relations and versatile cooperation in a number of spheres.
Pakistan was the second country recognizing Azerbaijan as an independent country on 12 December 1991 following Turkey.
It should be noted that Pakistan, which is the only nuclear power country in the Muslim world, has been standing behind Azerbaijan in the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict, as well as in all other issues since 1992. Pakistani officials have repeatedly stated that in the event of a threat to the territorial integrity and sovereignty of the Republic of Azerbaijan, Islamabad is ready to provide military assistance to Baku.
Pakistan Hosts 16th Virtual Meeting of SCO Forum

ISLAMABAD, Pakistan: The 16th Virtual Meeting of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) Forum hosted by the Islamic Republic of Pakistan was held on Tuesday.
The representatives of the SCO Member States participated in the meeting.
From Pakistan, representatives of the Center for Global & Strategic Studies (CGSS), the Institute of Strategic Studies Islamabad (ISSI), and the South Asian Strategic Stability Institute (SASSI) participated.
The Session was commenced with the opening remarks of the Director-General ISSI Ambassador Aizaz Ahmad Chaudhry.
Ambassador Aizaz Ahmad Chaudhry extended his gratitude CGSS and SASSI and highlighted that in the contemporary era of globalization, there is a need for regional cooperation to produce sustainable outcomes.
