A monthly programme similar to “Grama Vastavya”, will be conducted in the district for clearance of encroached land. As 118 gram panchayats in Dakshina Kannada are yet to allocate sites for setting up solid waste management units, the district administration will take up a drive to complete the process of allocation in another 20 days. The drive will also be for identification of sites for construction of houses for the houseless, according to the Deputy Commissioner K.V. Rajendra. ....
