Simple insulation solutions keep families warm and reduce air pollution

“ Even though it was very cold inside the house in the past winters, we did not insulate it due to limited financial and human resources. As a result of learning [from the Simple Solution Campaign] I can now insulate my own house with simple and affordable solutions,” said Ankhbayar B., a resident of the 16 th Khoroo of Sukhbaatar District. The Simple Solutions Campaign launched in Sukhbaatar and Songinokhairkhan Districts three months ago with a call to insulate houses using materials readily available. I didn t know that heat loss would be significantly reduced just by insulating our doors and windows,” explained Ankhbayar B.

Advancing gender equality in Mongolia s construction sector

2021-04-02 09:43:25  Ulaanbaatar /MONTSAME/ The construction sector is dominated by men, not only in Mongolia but also in countries throughout the world. Even in an advanced economy like the US, women consist of less than 1% of construction workers on the jobsite.   Here at the EU Funded Switch Off Air Pollution Project (SOAP), we’re working to redefine the role of women in the construction sector by working with jobsite team leaders, locally known as brigade leaders, to break outdated gender norms and help them find the best construction workers, regardless of sex. But we’re also training women to join the booming construction sector.
