Lawyers from Brian Kohberger are seeking a trial delay slated to start in october. He is charged with four counts of first degree murder as well as felony burglary. Defense is claiming he was out driving alone when those four students were murdered. Prosecutors say they want details including specific places he claims to have been at the time of the murders and witnesses to back up his alibi. so, judge, i ve been talking to lawyers, and one of the things that is notable, things get delayed all the time. this was happening very slowly. one of the lawyers could have heart surgery. there s a whole bunch of things that can happen. what is clear here, what is evident to everyone, and i think judge chutkan has been very clear, there is a strong public interest in a swift trial, donald trump and his lawyers don t want a swift trial. so the question now is, what can they do to throw sand in the gears? what would you be anticipating if you are that judge? when a judge presides over pretrial motions, it s the opportunity for the trial judge to size up with the parties are. how are they gonna behave? who s gonna engage in theatrical? who s going to be rude or maybe not want to follow the orders? and what i did on the bench, when i had a high profile case, and i knew there would be ....
