　　台湾政治大学国际关系研究中心美欧所研究员严震生昨天接受记者采访时介绍，斯威士兰是非洲唯一实行君主专制的国家，国王对国家司法、行政、议会事务有绝对的决定权，迄今仍实行“党禁”。“斯威士兰王室的奢华程度令国内民众非常不满，国王姆斯瓦蒂三世奉行一夫多妻，还不定时举行选妃活动。”
　　“以前斯威士兰是国王一个人说了算，所以1968年独立以来一直维持与台湾‘邦交’关系。但现在民众要求实行君主立宪制，让国王变成虚位。”严震生表示，如果斯威士兰王室倒台，那与台湾“断交”可能性就很高。“即便短期内不会‘断交’，但两三年后一定转向。”
