Swaffham Town Council (STC) would like to honour some of the achievements remarkable people in the town have made.
The Swaffham Heroes Awards will recognise people of all ages and walks of life who have inspired others with their determination and selflessness.

Jill Skinner, mayor of Swaffham, said: “This year more than ever it feels appropriate to acknowledge those who have gone the extra mile to help the community.

Councillors are set to discuss a breach in coronavirus rules by one of their members after she admitted walking down the high street following a positive test.
Now, Swaffham Town Council will be discussing the breach at a full council meeting on Wednesday, January 13.

The independent councillor released a statement on January 7 saying that she thought she could exercise once a day while in isolation .
She said: I apologise profusely to the people of Swaffham for potentially exposing them to the coronavirus. This happened as a result of me misinterpreting the government s advice on what can and can t be done whilst self-isolating.

A former deputy mayor has resigned from his post and accused the mayor of bullying and belittlement at meetings.
Keith Sandle has announced that he will be stepping down as a Swaffham town councillor.

In an email sent on December 10 to Swaffham mayor Jill Skinner, he said he decided to resign due to allegations of bullying, which she has strongly denied.
The email, which was published as part of a Swaffham Town Council agenda for a meeting on Wednesday January 13, said: It is with deep regret and a heavy heart that I have decided to resign as a Swaffham town councillor.
