Prince Philip, the beloved husband of Queen Elizabeth II and patriarch of the British royal family, has died at the age of 99.Â
His death at Windsor Castle was announced by the family in a statement Friday morning. The prince had been discharged from hospital just over three weeks ago, after undergoing a heart procedure for a pre-existing condition.
