The present institutional structure and work procedure of the National Reconstruction Authority (NRA) will now remain until mid-November.
The 19th meeting of the NRA Steering Committee held today under the chairmanship of Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli decided to continue the reconstruction works, including private housing reconstruction, until end of Kartik (November 16) which had earlier been aimed to complete by the current fiscal year that ends on July 15.
Chief Executive Officer of the NRA Sushil Gyewali informed that the disengagement and handing over plan decided earlier has been revised as the lockdown due to the second wave of Covid-19 pandemic hampered the overall reconstruction works, include the reconstruction of private houses. ....

The earthquake beneficiaries of the largest integrated settlement in Laprak of Gorkha have received the land ownership certificates after the Non-Resident Nepalis Association (NRNA) completed constructing the houses there. There are 573 houses built in the settlement.
Chief Executive Officer of the National Reconstruction Authority (NRA) Sushil Gyewali and President of NRNA Kumar Panta handed over the houses to the residents of Laprak Integrated Settlement in Dharche Rural Municipality. CEO Gyewali then handed over Lalpurja, the land ownership certificates, to those residents.
On the occasion, CEO Gyewali thanked NRNA and all the Nepalis living in different parts of the world for supporting in the construction of the settlement. ....

The National Reconstruction Authority (NRA) has made 93 percent progress in the reconstruction of private houses.
“We have made satisfactory achievement in reconstruction and rehabilitation by managing the risks posed by Covid-19 pandemic,” said Chief Executive Officer of the NRA Sushil Gyewali..”There has been 93 percent progress in the reconstruction of private houses which is the main area.” CEO Gyewali was addressing a press conference today organized to mark the sixth anniversary of the April 25, 2015 earthquake that caused a huge loss of lives and properties.
Out of 811,754 earthquake beneficiaries who have signed agreement for the government grant, 753,104 beneficiaries (93 percent) have started rebuilding their houses, the press release said. First installment has been distributed to 99.86 percent beneficiaries, 86.78 percent beneficiaries have received the second installment ....
