The Fairfield Mules have made it to the second round of the Class 3A IHSA football playoffs. The Mules defeated Hoopeston 26 to nothing at the Train Yard Saturday afternoon. The Mules next opponent will be Williamsville, who defeated Beardstown by a final of 43 to 22. According to information from Fairfield Community High School, the game has been set for this Saturday, November 6th at 2 p.m. The game can be heard on WFIW-FM 104.9 and wfiwradio.com 61-year-old Joseph Kopman of Elizabethtown, IL died late Friday night in an accident in Gallatin County. Illinois State Police at the District 19 post, headquartered at Carmi, say Kopman was driving a 2005 Dodge Stratus north on Forest Road just south of Kedron Road and for unknown reasons, left the roadway and hit a ditch embankment, causing the vehicle to overturn.
