Cruise missiles launched from u. S. Warships and drones began last night, there were 14 in all. Many of the targets were in or around the militants selfproclaimed capital in syria. The pentagon said the targets included headquarters, Training Facilities and a finance center. Today, president obama travels to the United Nations to try to rally more support for the push against isis. Marlie hall reports from the u. N. Reporter the u. S. And several arab allies launched their first air strikes against isis in syria last night. Pentagon said a mix of fighter jets, bombers and tomahawk missiles fired from nearby warships were used. Nancy writebol boarded a specially equipped plane last night in liberia and is being flown to Emory University hospital in atlanta. That is where another american patient, dr. Kent brantly is also being treated for the potentially deadly disease. The two americans were infected in liberia, one of four african nations dealing with the worst Ebola Outbreak in history. Training camp. 10,000 fans won some tickets online and its their first chance to see players if n helmets and jerseys nowing and catching footballs inned the new stadium. Also a new chance for the folks to work out the kinks they went through over the weekend. Call it unintended consequences but who knew that fans would park up to a mile away from the stadium and then walk in but thats what happened on saturday. Dozens of fans flooded the california impressions subdivision across the guadalupe river. Loud rowdy fans walked through the neighborhood at 10 00 p. M. Dropping litter and blocking driveways. Reporter from a distance mandy thought she was look at a bonfire. 911 asked if it was the size of a football field and at that point it was. And at that point, it just started getting bigger, really fast. Reporter alarmingly fast. Within just a few hours, the flames would consume 2500 acres in rural pope valley fueled by grass, trees and rocky terrain left desiccated by a punishing drought. This firefighters told us is not your typical july wildfire. We are seeing fires that we would see later in the year. Hot conditions, low humidity, strong winds and fires will burn faster than this one. Reporter an aggressive unpredictable intensity that firefighters have been struggling for hours to try to control. Heres one of the unique problems firefighters are dealing with, spot fires like this hopping all along the hillside.
