Historically good partner of the united states in law enforcement matters. and we expect them to comply with the treaty in this case. edward snowden had been staying in a hong kong hotel, but checked out june 10. it s assumed he s still in hong kong, but it s not clear. rick: if china wants to put up a fight or make it difficult for the u.s. to get snowden back here, is there any way for them to do that? yes. hong kong is largely in many ways controlled by china and one hong kong law maker says china may step in and make sure snowden is not extradited so that chinese intelligence can get ahold of any u.s. secrets and paperwork that snowden has with him. here is what one east asia analyst said about that. china gets all the information that snowden has one way or another. it may take longer than a couple days, but that s going to occur. i m really concerned about that because snowden very well may have been working for them in the first instance. but even if he isn t, we know that ....
