A West Reading man was fatally shot while driving a car with his mother Thursday afternoon, Reading police said Friday.
Dominique Lane, 28, was shot at least once in the 500 block of North 12th Street about 1:15 p.m., investigators said.
Mortally wounded, he continued to drive until the car crashed at 12th and Buttonwood streets, a little more than a block away, they said.

Police and fire department medic units responded to a report of a man shot and found Lane on the ground. His mother wasn t injured.
Lane was taken to the Reading Hospital trauma center. A staff doctor pronounced him dead at 2:21 p.m. Thursday.

Jillian R. Blimline, 38, initially told police that she was decorating the Christmas tree Sunday night in the dining room of a split-level home in the first block of Maywood Avenue in South Heidelberg Township.
She heard a noise and in her peripheral vision saw Chad A. Macwilliam, 39, on the floor with a pair of scissors in his chest. She called 9-1-1, requesting medical attention for her fiance.
