A proposed resolution aimed at allowing all businesses in Dickinson County to remain open regardless of whether they were deemed essential or nonessential during future emergencies did not gain approval from the county board of supervisors.
Resident Barbara Clayton brought the resolution to the Dickinson County Board of Supervisors earlier this month, and the issue was tabled until this week s meeting. Her resolution claims the denial and limitation on one s business is necessarily a denial and limitation on one s property, and infringes directly upon one s pursuit of life, liberty and happiness. The resolution did not define what a business is or address businesses which are illegal under state or federal law.
