UHRICHSVILLE With no state funds readily available to fix a major slip on Waterworks Hill Road south of Uhrichsville, the county engineer s office is exploring options with the prosecutor s office on the matter.
The road, which follows the banks of Big Stilwater Creek near the former water plant of the Twin City Water & Sewer District, has been closed since late October after about 1,200 feet of the pavement began to crumble. The slip was noticed a day after a dam on the Big Stillwater was removed in Uhrichsville.
Engineer Joe Bachman said he approached the Ohio Public Works Commission to get a grant to repair the road, but all emergency funding has been used up for this fiscal year. None would be available until after the start of the state s next fiscal year, which begins July 1. ....
