A small cloud cover is expected for the region today, yet skies should be mostly blue after this week s wet weather. The weather bureau has predicted a slight chance of showers in the morning, most likely near the coast. Maximum temperatures will sit at 26C for Maleny and 29C for Maroochydore, Caloundra, Nambour and Noosa Heads.
A hazardous surf warning has been issued by the bureau for Sunshine Coast waters. The warning remains current for today and Saturday and residents are urged to reconsider entering the water over this period.
High tide was at 2.09am at 1.53m and low tide will be at 8.15am at 0.72m. The next high tide will reach 1.42m at 1.58pm and low tide will be at 8.28pm at 0.45m. ....

Coast triathletes excited to get back racing on home soil

SCTA head coach Toby Coote said it s never ideal to have an event cancelled but knows his competitors are raring to go for this weekend s events.
It s never fun to have a race meeting cancelled but it s always good to get back into it and everyone s really excited, Coote said.
Being the first race of the season for a lot of them it s always good to put the training and practice into a race.
