The Novotel Sunshine Coast Resort has completed a major renovation in time for the peak Christmas and year-end holiday season.
The extensive renovation included the guest rooms and overwater bungalows, as well as the recreation spaces - including a refreshed resort pool precinct and lagoon beachfront, as well as a new Pilates Studio.

It comes after the International Olympic Committee named Brisbane as the preferred host of the 2032 Olympic and Paralympic Games. The announcement gives the Brisbane bid and the Australia Olympic Committee a 12-month window of exclusive negotiation with the committee to secure the hosting rights. Feasibility assessment documents revealed four venues were planned for the region, including Alexandra Headland, for road cycling, marathon and race walk, while kiteboarding was also set to be held at Alexandra Headland beach.

Hamilton is firming to host a 14,000-bed athletes village for a Brisbane-based 2032 Olympic Games.
The site, six kilometres from the Brisbane CBD, was identified in the International Olympics Committee documents released on Wednesday night when the IOC announced the Brisbane bid would have preferred status.
Part of Brisbane’s Hamilton Northshore area (centre right) is identified as a strong candidate for a 14,000-bed athletes village.

Like the athletes village developed at Southport on the Gold Coast for the 2018 Commonwealth Games, the Hamilton athletes village could be repurposed after the Games as a mix of private and public housing.
