Local businesses to receive $320K for electric vehicle charging stations

Two businesses in St. Clair County and one business in Sanilac County will receive a total of $320,000 to install fast charging stations for private and commercial electric vehicles.
Local Sunrise Stores LLC, TNT Equipment and SpeedyQ Market locations are among 32 across Michigan approved for Michigan Department of Environment, Great Lakes, and Energy’s Charge Up Michigan program grants, which totals over $1.8 million, according to a press release from Gov. Gretchen Whitmer’s office.
“Michigan put the world on wheels and will continue driving the world forward by leading on mobility and electrification,” Whitmer said. “These grants demonstrate our commitment to expanding EV infrastructure across Michigan and build on the extraordinary work and investments of our innovative industry partners and EGLE to help support drivers who make the transition to electric vehicles.” ....

LANSING, Mich.   Governor Gretchen Whitmer today announced thirty-two locations across Michigan have been approved as part of the Michigan Department of Environment, Great Lakes, and Energy s  Charge Up  grants totaling $1,868,681.13 to install fast charging stations for private and commercial electric vehicles, adding 88 charging outlets along key travel routes throughout the state.

Council OKs church’s rezoning request

SIDNEY The rezoning request of a 3.238 acre tract of land owned by the North Broadway Church of Christ on North Broadway Avenue, from an R-3, multi-family residence district, to a B-1, local business district, was approved by the Sidney City Council Monday evening.
The rezoning ordinance was adopted by City Council during its hybrid method teleconference meeting.
A public hearing was held during the meeting for the request of Brent Wright, on behalf of the North Broadway Church of Christ, for the rezoning of the property at 2655 N. Broadway Ave. The property is located on the west side of Broadway Avenue and north of Hoewisher Road. No members of the public spoke. ....
