January 17, 2021 Share The UAE Fatwa Council, has ruled that Coronavirus vaccines are permissible for Muslims even if they contain pork gelatin At a time when everyone is waiting for the arrival/distribution of Corona virus vaccine, Muslim scholars created a new controversy over its use by starting the halal-haram debate. First row of boycott arose in Indonesia where Indonesian Ulema Council declared that Corona vaccine cannot be administered to any Muslim as it contains pork gelatin. The same controversy later reached out to Indian diaspora and some Mumbai-based Sunni Ulemas declared that a Chinese vaccine, which allegedly contains pig gelatin, is ‘Haram’ or forbidden for Muslims. The Fatwa has been issued by Mumbai’s Raza Academy.
