The Klang Valley region recorded the most cases with 53.2 percent followed by Sabah (29.4 percent) and Pahang (5.3 percent). Cumulatively, the number of Covid-19 cases in the country has reached 80,309. For context, the total number of Covid-19 cases in China currently stands at 86,688. This brings the number of active clusters nationwide to 190 in total. In a statement Friday (Dec 11), Health director-general Tan Sri Dr Noor Hisham Abdullah said the Sungai Putus cluster was detected from a targeted Covid-19 screening activity conducted at a factory in Klang, Selangor. “As of Dec 11, a total of 2,001 individuals under this cluster have undergone screening, with 427 positive cases confirmed. “The cases include 418 foreigners and nine Malaysians, ” said Dr Noor Hisham. The Erima cluster in Gombak, Selangor was discovered after its index case, a 25-year-old woman, developed symptoms and later tested positive for Covid-19 on Dec 7. “Following the case, the employer arranged for a Covid-19 screening on workers and close contacts of the index case. ....
