The UK s official coronavirus death toll has risen by 828 in a fall of nearly a quarter compared to the same day last week.
It is the lowest Saturday daily rise in two months, since 44 deaths were recorded on January 2.
It comes as Boris Johnson vowed he will set out a road map on February 22 for easing restrictions across the country.

Sunderland City Council has confirmed it is working with Public Health officials after an outbreak at Argus Powerbend in Sunderland. The firm, which is based in Pennywell, had reportedly seen eleven of its staff members test positive for the virus. It comes as Nissan confirmed the death of a worker at its Sunderland plant last week following a positive Covid test. In a statement this afternoon, Sunderland City Council said: Sunderland Public Health officers are working closely with Public Health England North East and Argus Powerbend following a number of employees at its Sunderland plant testing positive for Covid-19 and sadly the subsequent death of one of those employees.
