A powerful explosion has reportedly occurred at a gas plant at Efurrun, Uvwie Local Government Council Area of Delta State, South-South Nigeria. Although the cause of the explosion was yet to be ascertained, SaharaReporters gathered that incident caused pandemonium among nearby residents. Jonah Jang, a former Plateau State governor has been exonerated of the N6.3 billion in corruption charges that the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission had brought against him. The former governor was exonerated by the Plateau State High Court, Jos Judicial Division, presided over by Justice Christy Dabup on Friday. The anti-graft agency had accused Jang of criminal breach of trust and misappropriation of Plateau State funds to the tune of N6.3 billion. ....
The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission has filed an appeal against a Plateau High Court decision that discharged and acquitted Senator Jonah Jang and Yusuf Pam of corruption charges totaling N6.3billion. This was disclosed by the agency's spokesman, Wilson Uwujaren, on Friday. He said, “The Commission has initiated processes for an Appeal immediately” in a statement seen on the anti-graft body’s official Twitter page.
