Several conditions had been outlined when the agreement was detailed in March, among them approval from the boards of El Al and Sun D’Or, labour agreements for the recovery plan, and a commitment to raise $105 million in capital from shares or options. El Al says the “last condition”, a government decision, was made on 9 May. With the fulfilment of this decision, it says, the financing agreement has entered into force. ....

Will no longer operate flights on Shabbat, according to Globes ( Israir stops Saturday flights). Four months ago, two well known Israeli businessmen Rami Levy and Shalom Haim purchased the airline and now have decided to push their Tel-Aviv to Eilat flight from Shabbat day to Saturday night. Haim told Globes: “By personal conviction I’m a religious Jew who observes Shabbat, and all my businesses are closed on Saturdays. We respect those who observe the Shabbat, and this is not a personal whim of mine, it’s the DNA of Judaism.” ....
Israir stops Saturday flights Four months after completion of the takeover by Rami Levy and Shlomo Haim, the airline has announced that it will no longer fly on the sabbath. Israir Airlines and Tourism Ltd. has announced that it is ceasing to fly on Saturdays, the sabbath. Four months after the acquisition of the airline by Rami Levy and Shalom Haim (through BGI Investments (TASE: BGI), which the two of them control), it is halting Saturday activity. The flights concerned are on the Eilat route. Henceforth they will operate on Saturday evenings, after the sabbath ends. RELATED ARTICLES Talking to Globes after the deal was completed, Haim said, We paid dearly, but we expect that Israir will double its value. The valuation of Israir for the purposes of the deal was NIS 180 million. ....

(LLHZ2805) El Al-owned Sun D’Or International Airlines will no longer operate flights on Shabbos, Globes reported Sunday. While El Al itself does not fly on Shabbos, Sun D’Or, a unit of the national carrier, has been operating charter flights on Shabbos. The decision is effective immediately, and tourist agencies have been notified that packages which include Friday night/Saturday flights, will have to be discontinued. In September, control of El Al was acquired by Eli Rozenberg, an Orthodox Jew. The acquisition of Israir by BGI Investments could well result in a similar policy change, as one of the owners, Rami Levy, does not operate his businesses on Shabbos. ....
Wholesale tourist agencies trying to book packages, which include Friday night/Saturday flights, have been told that the change of policy has come into effect. ....
