Doha: A team of researchers led by Dr. Suhail Doi, Head of Department of Population Medicine at Qatar University College of Medicine, reported that the commonly used relative risk to report clinical trials results might not even be interpretable as a measure of effect.
This finding has widespread implications for how clinical trials and meta-analyses are reported in healthcare and how the effects of treatments are interpreted. The findings also have an implication for previous trials and meta-analyses in the literature. It is likely that their interpretations may not be robust in the light of these findings. ....
