Man jailed after trying to gouge police officer s eye Ireneusz Wiater aged 35, of no fixed abode, was sentenced in Reading Crown Court on Thursday, March 4, after being found guilty of causing grievous bodily harm with intent to a police officer. Wiater assaulted a police officer by choking him in a headlock and tried to gouge his left eye out. He was then charged and remanded the next day. The attack left the officer with many painful injuries , including temporary blindness in his eye. Subhaan Nazir, aged 19, of Greenham Avenue, Reading, pleaded guilty to two counts of possession with intent to supply a class A drug (crack cocaine and heroin) and one count of possession of criminal property following a hearing at Reading Crown Court on Wednesday (March 3). He was sentenced on the same day to three years and three months in a youth detention centre. Police said: Nazir’s car was stopped by officers on Russell Street, Reading last October, with a search revealing multiple bundles of class A drugs hidden within the car. ....
