true colors doubling down on anti-parent agenda by inviting randi weingarten president of the american federation of teachers to i didn t know him on the campaign trail. she is the union boss that helped shut down schools and push critical race theory in the classrooms. but her track record of failing our children goes back much farther than that. and no one understands that better than journalist john stossel. for years he has been exposing the truth behind the unions and he joins me now. john, thank you so much for joining me tonight. again, no one knows better than you what randi weingarten and unions have done to america s school system and our schools. tell me what else you think america should know about the unions and randi weingarten in particular. well, my experience was years ago at abc i did an hour documentary called stupid in america that surprised everyone by getting high ratings. and the union was upset enough that randy assembled hundreds of
it. but unions say the charter schools avoid the problem kids. no way. i love fools. but sadly up to now, adult fools have run the show and made us stupid in america. school spending has tripled over the past 40 years. we now spend much more than other countries, but what do we get? fancier schools, more assistant principals, but student learning? no improvement. look at it. there s the line. for 40 years scores have been flat. much more money, no improvement. this is awful. but there is some good news. around america some very cool things are starting to happen. but school is boring? no, it isn t. no it s not. yes, it is. i know. i went to school. grade school was boring. so was high school. so was princeton.
the white house tomorrow. it s part of an extensive lobbying earth to look at a possible military strike on syria. at the same time two house committees are gearing up to gather right after labor day. they re divided on whether to launch even a limited strike. i would support a very narrowly tailored, narrowly crafted resolution that made it clear that u.s. troops would not be on the ground. and in the middle east, the arab league has passed a resolution that the assad regime must be held accountable for the sarin gas attack, which we think it is, that left hundreds of civilians dead. i m harris faulkner. now back to john stossel s stupid in america. as we ve seen, education in america is a mess. what will fix it? who might fix it? somebody needs to fix it!

i want that. more people will want that, too. it will push for more change. brian: that was from another network when you were there. i did my first stupid in america show and they got mad. brian: it was the teachers unions mad at you? 600 teachers showed up saying, teach, john. you don t know what it s like! you should teach. i said, i ll teach. give may class. they said, okay. no, we re not going to do that. brian: this is the two things that i think education has going for them, why i think it will be reformed. teachers are often the most influential and some of the best people you re going to meet more often than not and parents will do for the most part, anything for their kids. yes. brian: so the motivation is in the right places if we get out of their way. there is huge money there. teachers could make $300,000 a year if they just got the money. we ve tripled spending in education since i was in college. test scores at the bottom there, stayed flat. if the mo
