Digital MRV and DCS reporting streamlines the verification process
As the third reporting year of the EU Regulation on the monitoring, reporting and verification of carbon dioxide emissions from maritime transport (EU MRV Regulation) and the second year of the similar IMO Data Collection System (DCS) on fuel consumption come to a close, the reporting process has become part of ship operators’ routines. As with every new regulation, it has taken the industry some time to understand the mechanism and the pitfalls of these two emissions reporting and verification schemes, which are similar but require separate transactions .
