The plan was presented by Superintendent Alicia Thompson during a special meeting Wednesday with the school board. Dr. Thompson said the guidelines were developed with input from around 8,000 stakeholders, including students, teachers, staff and people from the community. She said there is confidence that school officials have provided leadership during the pandemic, but “none of us yet have led coming out of a pandemic. There will be many lessons to be learned over the next year and we will need to practice compassion and understanding, recognizing the trauma in whatever form it may take that both staff and students may have experienced.” ....
