"Adolescent girls' academic support-seeking, depression, and anxiety: t" by Erin Mackenzie, Anne McMaugh et al.

Objective: This study explored how seeking support from friends and parents and informal digital sources are related to anxiety and depression in adolescent girls. Method: Early and middle adolescent girls (N = 186) were presented with four vignettes of academic stressors; for each scenario, they rated their likelihood of seeking support from parents, friends, or digital sources. Depression and anxiety symptoms were measured using the youth version of the Depression, Anxiety, and Stress Scale. Alternate models were tested using Structural Equation Modelling. Results: Digital support seeking mediated the relationships between seeking support from parents and friends and anxiety and depression. Seeking support from parents was negatively related to digital support seeking, which in turn was positively related to depression and anxiety. Frontiers | Pre-service Teachers' Attitudes Toward Students With Behavioral Difficulties: Associations With Individual and Education Program Characteristics

Teachers’ beliefs towards students with special educational needs (SEN) in the regular classroom is a condition that may influence the implementation of inclusive education. Nevertheless, some studies suggest that teachers' attitudes or self-efficacy beliefs towards students with behavioral difficulties (BD) are quite negative, but much less emphasis has been placed on the factors and mechanisms contributing to these attitudes. The present study investigates associations between preservice teachers’ (PT) attitudes towards students with BD, PT’s individual characteristics including self-efficacy beliefs and PT’s education program characteristics. Participants surveyed were 1,499 PT enrolled in a four-years teacher education programs (bachelor’s degree) in the province of Quebec, Canada.
