Amarion Anderson, a senior at Manning High School, recently won the Optimist Club of Clarendon’s essay contest based on a theme of “Is Optimism the Key to Achieving the Dreams you iMagine?” He was recognized for his-first place achievement by club president, Lisa Justice, and vice-president, Johnny Weeks, at the club’s meeting on April 15 at Porter Jacks Restaurant in Manning. ....

2021 Striped Bass Festival Postponed

Due to the ongoing uncertainty surrounding the COVID-19 Pandemic, the Striped Bass Festival scheduled for April 2021 will be postponed. This decision was made out of an abundance of caution and with the safety and well-being of our community in mind.
By early fall our hope is that the situation will improve, relative to the pandemic, which will allow for a safer and more enjoyable festival experience. A tentative date of October 23, 2021 has been reserved for the Striped Bass Festival. We will continue to monitor the situation and will update the public with information as it becomes available. We appreciate your patience and your continued support. ....
