with gillian turner in the nation s capitol. gillian, good afternoon. hi, trace. a federal judge appointed by president trump just vacated the cdc s mask mandate. it applies to all public trans important hubs including train and bus stations, this decision has wide ranging implications for tens of millions of americans. it s a summer travel season. it s kicking in to gear. the judge writes, as you mentioned, the cdc failed to justify its decision and the mask mandate exceeds the cdc s statutory authority, violates the procedures required for agency rule making. last weekend, the biden administration extended the mandate for 15 days. it was slated to expire may 3. take a listen. the rise of the cases on severe disease and the assessment is that two weeks would give them additional time to do that. in march 21 states sued the biden administration seeking to have the mandate repealed. in congress, there s bipartisan opposition to nationwide mandates of any kind. th ....
