Streetlight riddim, DJ Frass says he and the Grammy Award-winning megastar are readying themselves to team up with a big Spanish-speaking artist for another record.
Frass made the revelation to veteran entertainment journalist Anthony Miller, during Friday night’s edition of
The Entertainment Report programme which was aired on Television Jamaica, after being asked to make his “last word” during the interview.
“Mi have a big Spanish collab coming up and it’s Dancehall,” Frass told Miller.
“Spanish collab with whom?” was Miller’s response.
“A big Jamaican artiste and a big Spanish artiste,” a hesitant Frass replied. ....

With no live shows or tours to be staged amid protracted lockdowns, Jamaican artists have gone fully into writing and production mode with over two dozen albums expected to be released in 2021 by some of the island’s biggest names.
However, comparatively low music sales continue to hinder many Jamaican artists from climbing atop the coveted Billboard Reggae Albums chart.
General Manager of the Jamaica Music Society (JAMMS), Evon Mullings is suggesting that entertainers directly market their music to their fans and ask them frontally to purchase digital copies.
For years, Billboard has been seen as the music industry’s favorite chart.  Charting there has been desirous as it validates the work put in by independent artists as it is considered objective evidence of their audience and the singers’ potential.  In fact, first-week sales have been particularly important to industry players and audiences. ....

NNPA Now, 81 years after his death, officials in Ethiopia plan to unveil a bronze sculpture in Addis Ababa to honor the legacy of Marcus Mosiah Garvey, the Pan African independence movement architect. According to a news release, the sculpture highlights Ethiopia as a focal point for Pan-Africanists to engage in constructing a unifying African heritage and destiny. “Our history began, in a sense, with Ethiopia,” Dr. Julius Garvey, Marcus Garvey’s youngest son, told NNPA Newswire.
Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. once called Marcus Garvey the first “man on a mass scale and level to give millions of Negroes a sense of dignity and destiny.” ....
