Ballparked at 4 billion, increases 200 million every year. [bell ringing] every year so anybody here who is interested in the fiscal aspect ofs of this project, should urge that it be done soon rather than later. And certainly not conditioned on an indefinite possibility of highspeed rail. This is a downtown extension for caltrain. [bell ringing] thats what its about. And we should get on with it. Thank you. Chair peskin next speaker. Hello again, supervisors, my name is roland from san jose. I really like whats on the table right now. And id like to touch on the point of national significance. If you really want a project thats going to get national and international attention, dont just leave it to the downtown extension, include the transbay tunnel to start with. Then if you go further and extend it all the way down to gilroy and now youre going across the bay, you look at the project with the magnitude of the channel tunnel railing, which is the link between london and the channel ....

Most of the previous speakers. Im not saying it was wrong to stop and look at this. Thats okay. And its also okay to see if it particularly talk about getting it into a broader realm then it was. Now by taking this on, you are looking like youre going to be the leaders. I mean, thats theres 11 of you. And none of you have executive office, but thats the way its being presented. I dont think thats going to happen, partly because this is much bigger than the city and county of San Francisco. Always has been. And one of the speakers talked about connectivity. Connectivity to bart, connectivity to caltrain, connectivity to 40 bus lines in the east bay. Connectivity to five muni lines. These are not just putting it downtown, its much bigger than that. So in these leaderships, somebody already said that, it really needs some kind of political push. Theres been a lot of us here who have been pushing this i hate to tell you how long since ....

Opportunities for them to be able to participate as we talk about equity because that piece is important. We need the voice of our Public Housing residents. You definitely admit in the presentation that these are areas where they heavily rely on bus service, but when they have to have bus service two, they have to have a voice to be able to talk about the needs in the community. The last thing, you mentioned during the budget cycle working to address improvements on the 8 bay shore. Is that the same timeline in terms of having more Rapid Service and additional buses that you just described . No, sir. So were starting the budget process. Right now it is going to take nine months or something to come up with our final operating budget for the next cycle. These ones the 29 and the 44 that are currently under way, those are in our existing budget. So i was saying the timeline for ....

Hours with us on a friday. Thank you. For me, you know, this has been an amazing hearing and im incredibly grateful that folks came to us to organize this and clearly a lot of work went in to getting things out. It was also a horrible hearing to hear these stories. You have to take a deep breath. I was thinking about the arrogance of people a decade ago , i need a minute together myself. The arrogance of people who, a decade ago promised disruption and boy, have they delivered. I think there is a lot of good people working in tech and in these Gig Companies who dont intend for horrible things to be happening, but i started doing a little lyft of all of the results from the people who are dying on our streets because of congestion, who are getting hit by cars because streets have been flooded. The people who are just frustrated because they cant get around on our streets because of the congestion, the harm to our
