police eventually caught up with both suspects but not in the same city. good afternoon. kpix s ryan takeo joins us live where police caught up with one of the suspects. reporter: one guy jumped out here downtown san leandro. east 14 and parrot is where we are. even stole a bike around here. but police arrested him near this area. then the driver kept going and ditched the newspaper delivery truck, a san francisco chronicle truck in a quiet cul-de-sac a mile from here. that driver jumped fences and police cornered him in a nearby creek. this started this morning about 8 a.m. when the two suspects stole, allegedly stole the san francisco chronicle truck in bayview. then they led chp on a chase over san mateo bridge to san leandro. police say the driver was all over the place, hitting cars, driving eratically. even tried to take out a couple of police cruisers. during the swerved he attempted to strike one of our motorcycle officers. he was not injured. report ....
