We re riding an Olympic rut and have seen our numbers go from black to red over the last two days thanks to some big favorites failing to produce. However, this train rolls on with plenty of time to overcome a couple of losses with some big medal-round games and playoffs on deck for Wednesday night and early Thursday morning.

The USWNT is playing a bronze medal match early Thursday (4 AM ET) that even if it wins, is going to feel like a disappointment. The American women were knocked out of the gold medal runnings after a 1-0 loss to Canada on Monday where the deciding goal came from a penalty in the 74th minute. That makes back-to-back Olympics for the Americans where they have failed to reach the gold medal game after capturing the top spot in three straight Olympics prior to Rio in 2016.
