Boathouse Row to turn its lights back on March 7

Boathouse Row's new lighting system will be revealed during a public ceremony on March 7, 2024. The new lighting system features 6,400 LED lights that can change color in 16 million combinations and be programmed with various effects. The historic site's lights were turned off in March 2023 so they could be replaced.

Why are the Boathouse Row lights out? Upgrades are underway

Boathouse Row is undergoing renovations to install a new LED lighting system that will enable its lights to change color and seemingly dance from boathouse to boathouse. While the $2.1 million project takes place, the Philadelphia landmark's lights will go dark for about eight months. They should go back on in time for the holidays.
