the storm is expected to make landfall from the outer banks of north carolina to the new york tri-state area. fox news chief meteorologist rick reichmuth has the latest projected storm path. rick? guys, you know, it s been so good that this storm the models have been so consistent on this, because it allows us to give everybody the warning they need, so there s no excuse for people not to be out of the storm s path. the latest satellite imagery, you ll notice this right here, that s dry air that s getting pulled into it. i think that means we re certainly not going to see significant strengthening of the storm before it makes landfall. one of the models we look at, the center most circle is the center of the storm. overnight it gets closer, making landfall somewhere around morehead city earlier tomorrow morning, around 8:00 or 9:00. that means anything to the east of the outer banks will take a big pummeling of this and have major impacts. gets around new york city sometime around

have serious flooding through the next two to three days. the worst of that will probably peak tomorrow night. as far as dealing with the storm path, we ll be watching this as we go throughout the next couple five to ten minutes. this is what will be updated from the hurricane center. as soon as we get that in, we ll let you know what they re calling for. thank you very much. also an update on the confirmed number of fatalities. it appears that about six people have been confirmed killed as a result of hurricane irene. newport news, virginia, an 11-year-old boy was inside an apartment with his mother. a tree, downed tree fell on to the complex killing that boy. a surfer in florida, central florida, died as a result of the waves. the big waves affecting that part of country as a result of irene, as well. so we re, again, trying to keep the numbers as accurate as possible. right now as it stands, at least three different states reporting fatalities as a result of hurricane irene. we
