Theater at Monmouth plans to presents the Maine Premiere of Tira Palmquist’s “Age of Bees,” an eerily prescient drama written in 2008 about a world-wide pandemic and its aftermath on people, the planet, and, most importantly, the bees.
The play opens at 7:30 p.m. Thursday, July 22, other performances are set for 7:30 p.m. July 23, 31, Aug. 4, 10, 14, 15 and 19; and at 1 p.m. Aug. 18.

Edward B. “Ed” Thompson, 53, of Albion, Illinois, passed away Wednesday, March 3, 2021 at Linda E. White Hospice House in Evansville, Indiana, surrounded by the love of his family. He was born on May 10, 1967 in Olney, Illinois, the son of Jimmy and Barbara (Hamilton) Thompson. He married Kim Kennard on March 25, 1995 and together they have enjoyed twenty-five years of marriage, centered around their family.
Ed, also known as “Eddie” to his family, close friends and classmates, was a dedicated employee of Albion Equipment Company as a service technician for thirty-one years. He took his job seriously and always made sure to do his best to be helpful and get the job done right. Ed was an avid sports fan. He greatly enjoyed playing, watching and coaching basketball. His favorite team to follow was U of I Basketball and his favorite professional player was Michael Jordan. Ed also enjoyed watching St. Louis Cardinals Baseball and was a NASCAR fan
