Linda Marie Johnson Duncan – Grayville

Linda Marie Johnson Duncan regained her dancing feet on December 17, 2022, at 2:13 am surrounded at home by her loving husband Larry and three daughters. Linda was born on April 9, 1953, in Terre Haute, Indiana to Howard and Imo Johnson as the third child of seven. She is survived by all of her siblings: Randy (Karen) Johnson, Martin (Mary Ruth) Johnson, Mary (Lin) Weaver, David (Tanna) Johnson, Patti (Bobby, deceased) Murphy, and Gloria (Kent) Waller. Linda's childhood memories included hard work on a dairy farm, various antics with her siblings, and moving back and forth from Illinois to Arizona. She most fondly recalled her time in Arizona with church friends and family picnics. While Linda lived in Illinois, she met her husband Larry who says he knew she would be his girl when he first saw her. Their first dates entailed memories from the Edwards County Fair and football at the Mount Carmel Snakepit. Larry and Linda married in Springerville, Arizona on June 13, 1971, after a t

Headlines – Friday, December 9th

The Wayne County Board met for their regular monthly meeting Thursday evening at the Wayne County Courthouse. Fairfield Park Board President Jay Fyie and Park Board member Linda Monge addressed the board seeking funding for a portion of the cost of the proposed Splash Pad at Leo French Park. Estimated cost of the project is $750,000. The Park Board had originally filed a grant request with the County Board seeking $100,000, but at last nights meeting, both Park Board representatives stated they would certainly take whatever the board saw fit to appropriate. Board member Ronnie Windland stated that the Splash Pad would be used by 95% "City" kids, with rural families not choosing to use it. It was obvious that several board members did not agree with his assumption. In the end, the board is tabling the request for ARPA funds until it becomes clearer as to what repairs have to be made to the courthouse. the request will be addressed at a future meeting. Beth Ann Seals – Ellery

Beth Ann Seals, 60, of Ellery, Illinois, departed from her earthly home and went to be with Jesus at 12:30 a.m. on Saturday, May 7, 2022. She was born on August 9, 1961, in Fairfield, Illinois, the daughter of Delmar and Ina Lee (Mitchell) Sample. She married Johnathan Matthew Seals on August 29, 1980, and together they have enjoyed forty-one years of love filled marriage. Beth devoted her life to Christ, her family, and friends. Her faith brought her through her battles with cancer over the last four and a half years. She is now reunited in heaven with her son Ean. Beth always had a beautiful smile and won the hearts of many people throughout her lifetime. Beth valued her many years working at Citizens National Bank of Albion. She treasured her group of friends from the bank and also the relationships she had with customers.
