The Gauteng Province is excited and welcomes the decision to host the 15th BRICS Summit scheduled for South Africa in August 2023 in the golden province. This was confirmed by Minister in the Presidency, Mondli Gungubele on behalf of Cabinet on Thursday, 2nd March 2023. This comes hot off the heels of a successful Meetings Africa 2023 event, which was hosted in Gauteng to full capacity and showcased Africa’s world class facilities and infrastructure for meetings, exhibitions and business events to the international, regional and local trade and buyers. The BRICS Summit brings together Heads of State, foreign ministers, global media representatives and business delegations from five member countries: Brazil, Russia, India, China and South Africa. South Africa is seeing a steady increase in trade with the BRICS countries and this bodes well for local industries and economic recovery prospects.
