That people like steyer and bloomberg have. bloomberg, i think, has so far spent $60 million on tv campaign ads. which is extraordinary. he essentially debuted at 6% in the polls. brian: what poll was that? steve: the hill poll that they do with harvard. bloomberg is doing okay. but what s interesting this morning is, you know, pete buttigieg, who had surged nationally over the last couple of weeks, their campaign has announced they have suddenly gotten endorsement from a bunch of obama people like reggie love, former special senator to president obama. as you austan goolsbee and linda douglas the former director of communications for the white house office of health reform rather than throw their weight behind joe biden who was the vice president during the obama years, they are looking to pete buttigieg. emily: which is fascinating. ....
Even though we don t have a national election. but with one weekend relegating harris, yang, not to mention booker, klobuchar, gabbard, steyer, and on and on behind him in the stack, talk about the effect of bloomberg in this race as you see it. well, he has spent a lot of money on this initial blitz of ads, and i think that they re everywhere, and it s hard not to notice them. he has the name i.d. as you said and all the money, this huge empire he s built and a lot of success. if this momentum keeps up, you know, that will be a surprise, and that will be a huge challenge to president trump. what he s also done, because there was so much backlash when he first got in the race. sort of privately, a lot of like, you know, chewing of teeth over this, is commit to spending $100 million in the swing states for the eventual nominee to try to sort of make peace for his late entrance, insulting everyone in the race by saying they can t beat trump. ....
Making between the brett kavanaugh fight, democrats and republicans, and impeachment and the facts in both cases? i think in both cases republicans were reluctant to grapple with the underlying facts. in the kavanaugh confirmation, and i talk about this extensively in my book, there were important witnesses, primarily a man named max steyer, who said he saw brett kavanaugh expose himself to another woman at yale. she doesn t at all, you know, fairness, she has told people that she does not remember that. but the fbi refused to interview max steyer because they were not instructed to do so by the white house. republican senators who were aware of this allegation refused to insist that max steyer be interviewed and, in fact, senator dianne feinstein, the ranking democrat, refused to get ....
What the new members want specifically, you quoted politico, is some kind of answer on the air waves in their districts because what s happening now is a year before the next election republican groups with functionally unlimited money because it s early and ads are cheap, running ads with ocasio-cortez, congress is not doing anything to work across the aisle, they re focussed entirely on impeachment. what democrats would like is some sort of answer to that, maybe to break it 50/50. if we re going to have an ad war, let s not be totally disarmed here. and that s not happening because of the focus of the wealthy donors. now it was democrats who decided to impeach, tom steyer did not hypnotize them into doing so. the events made them to decide to do this. specifically they would just like a little bit more ball last and more cover than they re getting. two money who could provide that, have moved on to other things. thank you for joining us. we appreciate it. thank you. new investi ....
