Nominations Close For Municipal Elections

Voters in New Brunswick now know who they will be voting for in the upcoming municipal elections.
Nominations for the municipal, district education council and regional health authority elections closed at 2 p.m. Friday.
According to Elections New Brunswick’s website as of 2 p.m., four people are in the running for mayor in
Saint John: Darrell Bastarache, Donna Reardon, Mel Vincent Jr. and Howard Yeomans. A total of 47 people are running for the 10 council seats in the city.
In
Quispamsis, incumbent Gary Clark and deputy mayor Libby O’Hara have put their name forward for mayor. There are also 10 candidates for the town’s seven council seats. ....
